This first volume, published by Çaşıoğlu in Baku in 2009, frames the March 1918 events as a genocide against the Azerbaijani people and sets out to reveal the "true history" of the "26 Baku commissars" who were glorified in the Soviet era. Focusing on the 1918 conflicts between the Baku Soviet administration and the Azerbaijani population, it provides political and social background to the Caucasus Islamic Army's Baku campaign. In the collection it serves not as a military narrative but as an example of Azerbaijani historiography on the events preceding the campaign.
