Published in Baku by Elm in 2017, this Azerbaijani-language book draws on British archival documents held at the British League/British Library to examine the mass violence suffered by Azerbaijan's Turkic-Muslim population in 1918-1920, which the author characterises as genocide. It adopts a source-studies approach, presenting and assessing the documents. The period covered overlaps directly with the March 1918 events, the founding years of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the 1918 campaign of the Caucasian Islamic Army, while British sources also illuminate the Allied intervention in Baku.
