The Ottoman-Azerbaijani military drafting projects prepared by the Istan- bul government in July 1918 were investigated and the role and place of the Ottoman Empire in the process of the establishment of the Azerbaijani army was determined. The nature of military cooperation between the Ot- toman Empire and the Republic of Azerbaijan has also been studied. The participation of the newly-established Azerbaijani army in the Baku opera- tion was also commented on. Most archival documents involved in the problem-related research have been brought to scientific circulation for the first time
