After setting out the historical and strategic importance of the Caucasus, the book follows the 1918-1919 campaign of the Caucasus Islamic Corps step by step. Its narrative frame runs from the Berlin Conference through the First World War and the Bolshevik Revolution to the proclamation of the North Caucasus Republic. Written by a former officer, it presents the operations through sketch maps, archival documents and period photographs, and closes with the lessons drawn from the campaign. Prepared after the author's books on the Balkan War and the defence of Kop Dağı, it runs to 304 pages and has reached a ninth printing.
