Published by Greenwood Press in 2001, this English-language monograph examines the Ottoman Army's organization, mobilization and front-line operations throughout the First World War on the basis of Ottoman archival sources. For this collection it provides the wider institutional and operational framework within which the 1918 Caucasus campaign and the Army of Islam emerged. Although not focused on the Baku operation itself, it remains a core reference for Ottoman military structure and manpower in the final year of the war.
