Published by Elm in Baku in 2017, this Azerbaijani-language book by Güntəkin Nəcəfli studies, through source criticism, the violence against the Azerbaijani Muslim population in and around Urmia during the First World War. The author characterises these events as "genocide"; the framing is the source's own. For the collection it provides background on the regional violence of 1917-1918 and on Ottoman military activity in the Iranian Azerbaijan theatre preceding and accompanying the Army of Islam.
