Published in Baku in 2008 by the Caucasus Research Institute of Qafqaz University, this roughly 700-page edited volume treats the Caucasus Islamic Army's activities in Azerbaijan and the Caucasus chronologically in four parts from historical, socio-political and cultural angles. According to Ahmet Saniç's review, the first part covers the great powers' regional policies, the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the conditions leading to the campaign. Turkish and Azerbaijani editions exist.
