Betül Aslan's monograph on the 'Kardaş Kömeği' (Brotherly Aid) sent by Azerbaijani Turks to Anatolia during the First World War and on the Baku Muslim Benevolent Society.

Published in Ankara in 2000 by the Atatürk Culture Centre, this book examines the 'Kardaş Kömeği' relief campaign through which Azerbaijani Turks aided war-stricken Anatolian Turks during the First World War, and the Baku Muslim Benevolent Society that organised it. It documents the organisational life of the Turkic-Muslim community of Baku and the Caucasus before 1918 and its bonds of solidarity with the Ottomans. For the collection it provides the background of mutual aid and kinship ties that preceded the arrival of the Army of Islam in Azerbaijan in 1918.
